Old Bolts 1- Rochdale St Clems 1

Si Shields - club manager stated just three days ago that the home webpage current Player Profile "Craig Jolley never scores because he never crosses the half way line”

So it's a little ironic that Craig"s first goal ever should arrive in the 92nd minute of a closely fought game as he rose to nod home just as hopes of a deserved equaliser were fading fast. Perhaps it was, once again the genius of Ron Manager to encourage Jolley to venture into unchartered waters  that lead to the Bolts grabbing something from a second half in which they dominated but couldn’t score (a bit like Beardsworth in a night club)  - or maybe it simply was just rewards for an inspirational performance from the “on-loan” central defender.

Either way this was a very good team performance from the B team who never gave up for the whole match against a fit young organised Rochdale and testimony to their keeper who thwarted Milne and then Beardsworth with some excellent saves.

Fine displays from Mark Brookes and Ross Taylor and if  it hadn’t been for a moment of poor marking in the box after 20 minutes that gifted Rochdale a goal, the Bolts could easily have nabbed all three points.

Dave Sandbrook was practically redundant in goal and hardly had a save to make all game, and on this performance, all in the championship race is not lost for a B team who can deal with some of the best in the league..with a little help from their friends..
