Radcliffe Boys Reserves 0 Old Bolts B 2

Despite late cry offs and people turning up without boots, the kind of bumbling incompetence that beggars belief, the Bolts B turned in a competent and capable victory against a fit, and strong Radcliffe team who for all their puffing and panting were simply unable to unlock the solid Bolts defence. The first clean sheet of the season, with fine defending by Dave Morris and Ross Taylor, backed up with two great saves from keeper Dave Sandbrook, meant that the rest of the team could knock the ball around with an air of confidence that should have lead to more than just two goals.

However, a goal in each half, the first, from MOM Mark Brooks who is scoring goals for fun - (as opposed to getting paid to do it!), when he lofted a shot over the keeper from the edge of the box and the second, an Entwistle lob from an excellent string of passes involving half the team, -  was enough to show that the B team can be a force to be reckoned with in this league.

Newcomers, Michael (Son of Rick) Timmis looked promising  whilst "Gurse” Worsley accommodated the right back position with poise. This means more players to the squad  and an array of talent that will be called upon throughout the season which is now seriously starting to take shape.
