Rochdale St Clements Res 3 - Old Bolts Res 3

Bolts should not have drawn this game.

After dominating the first half with some nice football, the strikers causing havoc with the Rochdale defence, midfielders tracking back and the Bolts defence looking resolute.

With about 30 minutes gone Wes Wright went on one of his runs and hit the ball from 25 yards out, looping over the keeper only to be denied by the cross bar, however the ball then fell to the opportunist Chris Neasham and with all his effort tapped it home with his LEFT foot!!

Half time Bolts 1-0 up!

The second half started slowly with Rochdale trying to get back in the game, with some good saves from debutant keeper Dave Sandbrooke. But just as it looked like Rochdale were getting on top of the game Andy Myers ran into the box and when about to pull the trigger, was felled to the ground like he had been shot in the back. The Ref gave a penalty and John Collings smashed it down the middle 2-0 Bolts.

Not long after, there was a long ball forward for John Collings to run on to and as he got into the penalty area, one of Rochdale's defender made a rash challenge in an effort to break John's legs.

Once again John picked up the ball and smashed it into the top corner -3-0 to the Bolts.

Now its hard to believe we threw away 3 goals but we did. Hopefully next week the team will endeavour to avoid throwing the match.
