Radcliffe Boys 5 Old Bolts Res 3
Radcliffe must have thought all their Christmas's and Birthday's had come early as they took all 3 points off Bolts for the 2nd time this season.
With Bolts virtually at full strength with the returning John Collings in the side, they started brightly and created a few early chances but unfortunately failed to take them. Radcliffe with their first real attack opened the scoring after a terrible defensive mix up the striker couldn't miss 1-0, within a minute it was 2-0 as again another individual error gifted Radcliffe a goal.
Back came Bolts and a good move ended with a fine strike from Ben Moores to get Bolts back in the game 2-1. Bolts drew level soon after as in form striker Ryan Hardwidge slotted home from another good move. 2-2.
Bolts were a constant threat going forward but its not the attack where the Reserves have the problem at the moment and once more the defence managed to gift a 3rd goal to Radcliffe this time from a corner that Bolts failed to clear on 3 occasions!!! 3-2 Radcliffe.
Once more Bolts found the resolve to get back in the game as Ryan Hardwidge ran free to calmly slot past the keeper to draw the scores level at 3-3 just before half time.
At half time the talk was to push on and finish off Radcliffe who were in all honesty a very poor side, the defence was told to shape up and cut out the individual errors that were costing Bolts dear!!
Bolts though for some reason didn't play at all in the 2nd half and Radcliffe took advantage of this as they punished more shoddy defending to make it 4-3. Bolts huffed and puffed to try and get an equaliser but to no avail and Radcliffe sealed a thoroughly miserable day for the reserves as the Radcliffe striker fired a free kick passed a 1 man wall straight into the net from 35 yards out. 5-3.
A game to forget for the reserves as they struggle to find any sort of consistent form and they need to cut out the individual mistakes if they are to do this. 12 goals conceded in the last 3 games is simply not good enough - Is it time for Don Brennan to return????
