Old Boltonians v Bury GSOB

Just as manager Simon Shields was starting to question his past few weeks decisions and not gtetting all the results he was looking for, he put the onus back on his players and in true form the boys came up trumps.

With a new team formation and 5 subs on the bench players needed to play for there shirts, we did not play well at all last week and we needed another kick start.

we got of to a great start with vet Julian Stevens playing the anchor roll in midfield and David Owen now left to roam up front. This had bury grammer all over the place. It wasn't long before Darwen pushed the ball onto Taylor who linked up with Mcllenan who put Old Bolts one nil up after only 10 minutes.

This soon became 2-0 by a great ball from Jolley, onto Walsh who picked out Owen for his 3rd goal in 3 games.

Bury Grammer seemed no match for the old bolts and with only 10 minutes left to half time

A great challange from Nick Luke saw a cross field ball to Marcus Layton who pushed the ball down the line for Burrows who placed the ball in the roof of the net for his first goal of the season.

Old Bolts went in at half time with the will to push on even further. no one can stop us when we are is this mood.

The second half came and vet Stevens won a great ball in the first few seconds that saw the ball feed out wide to Burrows who won the corner and from this Mcllenan saw his second goal fire over the line. His 2 month old boy was on the line and what a proud day to be a father!!!!!

The last goal of the game was scored by young boy Daz Dalton who is proving to be a great signing for Old Bolts and will no doubt be a great prospect for the future..
